Bring your HOMER friends to life through imaginary play!

Color in and cut out your favorite HOMER characters to practice ordinal numbers and celebrate “I Did It!” Moments through imaginary play.

What You’ll Need:

  • This printable

  • Crayons or markers

  • Scissors

  • Glue

  • Cardboard or cardstock

  • Popsicle sticks (optional)

How to Play:

  • Have your child color the characters, then cut them out along the border.

  • Glue the characters onto a cereal box or cardstock to make them sturdy; cut the base material to fit (grown-ups should handle this step.)

  • Optional: glue a popsicle stick to the bottom of each character to create mini-puppets.

Once you’ve assembled your HOMER characters, use the play tips below (+ imagination) to bring them to life!

Who’s Who in the HOMER Crew

Finn the Dolphin

Whether it’s about playing a game of hopscotch or learning a new skill, Finn is always excited and ready for what’s next. He lets his curiosity lead the way as he swims, flips, and twirls his way around new problems.

Jack the Yak

Jack may be a little shy at first, but—once he opens up—he has a lot to share! There’s a big brain under that tiny hat, and Jack loves to pass his knowledge on to others. He’s a helper at heart and is known to give the very best hugs.

CiCi the Sloth

The sweetest sloth you’ll ever meet, Cici is a pro when it comes to going with the flow. She has an endless sense of wonder for the world around her and loves looking for new solutions to tricky problems!

Hiro the Hedgehog

If it’s broken, Hiro can fix it! Hiro is quick to make connections between ideas and come up with new things to try. He thinks fast and acts even faster; good thing he has his friends to help him think his big ideas through!

Mo the Moose

Confidence is the name of the game for Mo Moose. A self-proclaimed weather-nerd and “Moosematician,” he’s always ready with a fact or a forecast.

Leslie the Ladybug

“Small but mighty” is Leslie’s motto! Nothing gets in her way when she’s crossing things off her daily to-do list. If she gets frustrated, a kind word or a donut can always save the day!

Taco Turtle

Taco Turtle is one righteous dude and everyone’s favorite jokester. He runs the town’s best (and only) pizza shop. Excited—but never daunted—by a challenge, he takes on obstacles with a carefree ease.

Tisa the Cat

Tisa is your regular chatty-catty. She loves to ask questions, learn new information, and talk, talk, talk! A true maker, Tisa is the go-to cool cat for all the trends around town.

Remi the Giraffe

With hopes as high as he is, Remy is a glass-half-full kind of giraffe. Even when he knows he might be wrong, he’s always willing to give solving new problems a try—as long as they can keep his attention long enough!

Play Tips:

  • Create your version of the Wacky Slide game! Your child can practice taking turns and using ordinal numbers by gathering all of the characters together to play a game and determining who goes first, second, third, etc.

  • Create a HOMER Character Book by stapling pages together (you’ll want to stop before pasting the characters on cardboard for this one). You can prompt your child to decide who will go in the book first, second, third, etc.
